After uploading the images, click on the slideshow and select ADD/EDIT PHOTOS. Click on the speech balloon icon at the top of the thumbnail image to add a caption; click on the link icon to add a link; click on the orange ADD PHOTOS button to add images; click on the trashcan icon above any image you wish to delete.

I'd like to know if there's any way to use the slideshow function for the header image on Weebly?

Well, then you are a super coding sleuth! I tried it and that works, too! I'll share the answer with one of the viewers who contacted me through the contact form and maybe do a separate post about captions so the info's not buried in comments, if that's okay with you. I'll credit you for finding the solutions and link to your own site, if you send it to me.

This a really helpful thread! Does anyone know how to make the gray caption bar appear right below the slideshow image instead of covering part of the image? Thanks in advance!

Sorry it took ages to get back to you. We had a death in the family, then health complications with another family member and my schedule got mightily derailed.

Hi from Australia - I've been reading this with interest - does anyone know how to achieve smaller font sizes on the gallery image hovers? I did try to adapt the code provided for the slideshow in the css but I don't really know what values to change and where. Thanks in advance, Trevor

It is fine with me if you do a separate post with the image and slideshow coding. That would make it easier for someone trying to find out answers. I don't have my own website so no need to link to a website. You can credit me if you want - Linda in Wasilla, Alaska.

W00 linda's code works! But only partly, in my case. Can't get the font size to change. It's weird. Anyway... I figure I might as well just use an image editing program for the captions, but it would be nice if Weebly made it easier to do through CSS. :P

ok genius coders! I want to use the slideshow but instead of uploading a photo I want to upload text and have 1-5 different texts fade in and out by rotation. I know that using the weebly slideshow option allows images to be uploaded and can use the fade option to do this but I want to upload testimonials ie. texts! Help!

Hey guys! Great posts and thanks for the help. We were able to do some/most of the things you mention above, but I am helping an artist and we need the captions to be OFF IMAGE, preferably below but adding margin or padding isn't moving them below the image. Any ideas?

I just increased the canvas size of my images so that there is white space at the bottom for the caption..

The slideshow captions on a site I'm working on show up dead center on the image, and the whole image is grayed out, on hover -- that's with the setting at "Bottom." Any ideas how to fix this? Couldn't find any info on Weebly.

Due to elder care issues, I am not able to respond to questions, as I am concentrating on working on existing clients' updates and further projects.
I apologize to those who wrote in and weren't posted. I kept thinking I'd be able to respond and wasn't. Please read the existing posts for answers and don't forget to check the comments. Several related issues were covered within the comments and there are good suggestions from commenters, as well. Also, with the new Weebly interface formatting, click around and you'll find what seems to be all the old features behind visually simplified icons. So, for example, when wishing to change a page type (no header, tall header, etc.), click PAGES, click the page's name in the list, and you'll get all the different types to choose from. If you're really stuck, you can also call Weebly at 1-844-493-3259, also check out Weebly's blog, Weebly tutorials on YouTube and, if you're adventuring into coding, w3schools.com is terrific.
